Greetings! This is my first attempt at blogging. My  assignment is to post before and after photographs for CIS120DF.  I would just like to mention I am a  real fan of James Patterson's blog.  Check it out!

Below are my pics for this posting.  I explained a little about the photos and what I did to try to make them a bit more appealing.

The photo on the left is the finished product of a picture I took on the Phoenix Photowalk 2012 at Turf Paradise.  I saw the little boy in the crowd and couldn't resist taking the shot. The result  was disappointing as were the distractions I saw in the frame.  I needed to remove the beer cup from center frame.  I used the content aware move and patch tools.  I used the dodge tool to give more light to his face and then used the tilt shift in filters to fuzz out the rest of the crowd. I liked how it turned out! See the difference from the photo below?

On the same day, I tried my hand at sport photography.  I was happy with the performance of my Nikon 3100.  The lens was 55mm-200mm. The photo below is the original picture.  I zoomed in on the finishing 3 horses and used the crop tool to get this view on the left.  Then I used the content aware tool to move the word finish into the shot.  It was too high on the post before.

This was a fun day!  I learned a lot and met some great people.  Already looking forward to Photowalk 2013!

Here is a picture taken on Coronado in San Diego, CA. I used the Content Aware Move tool to move the flowers more to one side. Then I used the Dodge tool to lighten up the shadowy areas. I also adjusted the Hue and Saturation a tad.

Ponderay, Idaho is the setting for this photo above.  My fiance, Bill, and I were visiting my sister at her lake house.  We took kayaks out on the lake one morning and I saw this view.  I just loved all the color and texture.  I enhanced it by adjusting the curves just a little.  It makes me think if I look closely enough, I might see some Forest Fairy flitting about!
